Former Marine Freed From Russian Prison

A former U.S. Marine, Robert Gilman, 32, has been freed from a Russian prison and is back in the United States. Gilman’s family had long disputed Russian accusations that he assaulted a police officer on a train. He arrived back home with serious concerns about his health after years held captive in Russia.

Gilman was freed after he received a pardon from Russian President on humanitarian grounds. He arrived at San Antonio’s Kelly Airfield around 2 a.m. Wednesday morning.
