The Philadelphia Flyers announced they have signed Anaheim Ducks center Leo Carlsson to a five-year, $90 million offer sheet, making him the league’s highest-paid player.
Contract Details
Carlsson will make $18 million in average annual salary, surpassing Minnesota Wild’s Kirill Kaprizov, who signed an eight-year, $136 million contract extension last September.
The Ducks have seven days to decide whether to match the Flyers’ offer. If they choose to let the 21-year-old Carlsson leave, they will receive one Philadelphia first-round pick in each of the next four seasons as compensation.
Carlsson was the second overall pick in the 2023 NHL draft and has produced 61 goals and 80 assists over 201 regular-season games for the Ducks.
