Law enforcement agencies across multiple states are searching for a 38-year-old woman wanted for murder after human remains were found buried in a shallow grave in Florida. The Walton County Sheriff’s Office issued an urgent alert for Isabelle Rose Johnson, who faces charges stemming from an ongoing investigation in Freeport, Florida.
Investigation Details
Investigators discovered the remains on a property off Sunset Lane. Authorities have not released the identity of the victim, the cause of death, or the timeline of the incident. Johnson has close ties to North Georgia and lower Alabama, prompting agencies like the Habersham County Sheriff’s Office to assist in the search.
According to investigators, Johnson frequently travels between Okaloosa and Walton counties in Florida, lower Alabama, and several Georgia communities, including Habersham, Athens-Clarke, Carroll, Harris, and Coweta counties, specifically the city of Newnan. Law enforcement officials stated that Johnson is known to use multiple aliases, including Harley, Jessica Elaine Bowman, Jessica Elaine Thrush, Jessica Elaine Thrash, Jessica Dowdy, and possibly “Denise.”
Investigators noted that she frequently uses sympathy narratives, such as claiming to be a victim of domestic violence or experiencing severe hardships, to manipulate people into providing her with money, shelter, or transportation. Authorities do not know her current location or exact travel routes. Investigators believe she may have recently cut and dyed her hair to change her appearance, though her current look remains unconfirmed.
Public Alert
Johnson is described as a white female, 5 feet 3 inches tall, weighing 120 pounds, with hazel eyes. She has a floral tattoo on her left hand near her thumb and forefinger, as well as another tattoo on her right ankle. A combined reward of up to $11,000 is being offered for information leading to her capture.
The Walton County Sheriff’s Office advises the public not to approach Johnson, as she should be considered dangerous. Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to call 911 immediately, contact the Walton County Sheriff’s Office at 850-892-8111, or submit an anonymous tip to Emerald Coast Crime Stoppers at 850-863-8477.
