A woman in her 20s was attacked by a stranger while walking her dog in Jennings Forest on June 16, 2026. The incident occurred around 7:30 a.m. near Powell Ford Road. The suspect, described as a white male in his 40s, grabbed the woman by the arm, but her dog defended her, biting the suspect on the right arm.
Investigation Underway
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident and has released a composite sketch of the suspect. He is approximately 6 feet tall, with a medium build, weighing between 200 and 215 pounds. The suspect has scruffy hair, a salt-and-pepper beard, and a strong, musty body odor. Due to the dog bite, authorities believe the suspect likely has a visible injury on his right forearm.
The sheriff’s office is asking for the community’s help in identifying the suspect. A cash reward of up to $5,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest.
