Background
State Representative Michael Gottlieb, chairman of the Florida Legislative Jewish Caucus, had posted a statement calling the planned rally an ‘anti-Jew’ gathering. Tlaib has condemned antisemitism and says criticism of Israel’s occupation of Palestinian territories is not antisemitic.
The Venue stated that it is Jewish-owned and that its values and commitment to the Jewish community are deeply important. The event was later moved to a Fort Lauderdale wine bar.
