A Florida man, Jose Allende, has been reunited with his daughter after being detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) for nine months. Allende was arrested in September 2025 during ICE raids in Brevard County. His daughter, Sheena, expressed her happiness at being reunited with her father, stating that it felt like a weight had been lifted off her chest.
According to Sheena, her father came to the United States legally from Cuba through the Freedom Flights and has a Social Security number and a U.S. driver’s license. However, a criminal history from decades ago and his lack of U.S. citizenship led to a deportation order. Allende has applied for his green card and is working with his attorney to complete the citizenship process.
