A Florida woman previously named to the Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers 10 Most Wanted list has been taken into custody in California, law enforcement officials confirmed. Cameron Shirley, 28, was wanted by the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office on charges stemming from unlawful sexual activity with an underage child.
According to SWFL Crime Stoppers, Shirley was an employee at a juvenile halfway house in Charlotte County when she allegedly engaged in illegal sexual activities with a boy residing at the facility.
Authorities stated that the arrest was initiated by an anonymous tip submitted directly to Crime Stoppers. Representatives from the program credited the public’s assistance in locating the suspect, noting that the tip provided crucial information that led to her capture after she fled the state.
