A fishing vessel, the Bounty, was rescued in Estero Bay after taking on water. The California Department of Fish and Wildlife’s Office of Spill Prevention and Response team was dispatched to the scene. The U.S. Coast Guard was able to refloat the vessel and tow it back to safety at the Morro Bay Marina.
No injuries were reported, and no oiled wildlife have been observed since the rescue. A boom has been deployed, and the Bounty is required to remain in place pending an investigation of the incident.
