A fire in Yucaipa, California, has injured two firefighters and burned over 33 acres of land. The fire, dubbed the Green Fire, started near the Thurman Flats picnic area and mountain home village on Monday evening. Firefighters are working to contain the blaze, which is burning along Highway 38 in San Bernardino County.
Firefighting Efforts
Evacuation warnings and road closures are in effect between Bryant Street and Forest Falls. The fire is being fueled by hot and dry conditions, with temperatures expected to reach nearly 100 degrees in the area. An extreme heat warning is also set to go into effect in the coming days.
The injured firefighters were rushed to nearby hospitals, but the extent of their injuries is not yet known. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
