FBI Investigates Gunfire at Phoenix ICE Office

The FBI is asking the public for information after one or more unidentified people fired several rounds at a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement building in Phoenix on Tuesday. The rounds struck several parts of the exterior without injuring anyone.

Incident Details

The incident occurred on July 14 at ICE’s Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) building at 2035 N. Central Ave., near Palm Lane. The FBI Phoenix Field Office announced the investigation Thursday.

ICE’s ERO protects the country through the arrest and removal of illegal immigrants who violate U.S. immigration laws.

The FBI has not identified any suspects, announced an arrest, or disclosed a possible motive. The agency said it would not release further details because the investigation remains underway.

A demonstration took place outside the office later on July 14, but there was no indication of a connection to the shooting, according to local reporting.

Anyone who saw suspicious activity near North Central Avenue during the afternoon of July 14 or has information about the shooting can call 1-800-CALL-FBI, or 1-800-225-5324. People also can submit tips online.

Similar Incident in Dallas

The Phoenix gunfire comes less than 10 months after a sniper opened fire on the Dallas ICE field office from a nearby rooftop.

Joshua Jahn fired from the rooftop during the September 24, 2025, attack, killing two detainees and wounding a third. Then-U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Texas Nancy Larson stated that notes recovered after the attack showed he intended to target ICE personnel.
