A man was shot and killed in Fayetteville early Sunday morning, and a juvenile was injured, according to police.
Around 4 a.m., police officers responded to a report of shots fired on Newark Avenue, where they found multiple shell casings.
Just a few blocks away, they found a man lying on the ground with a gunshot wound along State Avenue. The man was declared dead at the scene by EMS.
Police said a male under the age of 18 who showed up at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center with a gunshot wound was injured in the same incident. He is expected to be okay.
The Fayetteville Police Department is investigating. No suspect information was shared, but police said there is no threat to the public.
