Justin Farmer, a candidate for state representative, hosted a music-listening and CD-burning party at Source Material art gallery in Westville. Farmer, who is running for the 92nd General Assembly District seat, used the event to connect with voters and share his love of music.

Farmer’s Campaign

Farmer, a former three-term Hamden Legislative Council member, has been endorsed by the Connecticut Democratic Socialists of America (DSA). He has spoken about his support for various issues, including Right to Counsel and Fair Rent Commissions, and his fight against prison gerrymandering.

At the music event, Farmer played a variety of songs, including "Another Night" by Aretha Franklin and "Distant Lover" by Marvin Gaye. He also discussed the importance of music in bringing people together and creating a sense of community.

Community Support

Erik Kuranko, a 36-year-old Vista Terrace resident and DSA member, attended the event and expressed his support for Farmer’s campaign. Kuranko, a disabled veteran, praised Farmer for speaking out against Israel’s actions in Gaza and for his commitment to social justice.

Heidi Oyuela, another attendee, said she was impressed by Farmer’s passion and dedication to his campaign. Oyuela, who first met Farmer when she was 16, said she was excited to learn more about his platform and how she could get involved.
