A family’s 40-year home in San Bernardino was destroyed by illegal fireworks over the Fourth of July weekend. The Scott family lost everything in the blaze, which started in a neighbor’s backyard.

Video shows residents trying to hose down the flames, but the home was fully engulfed by the time firefighters arrived. The family is now trying to piece together what’s left of their lives, grateful that everyone made it out alive.
Tawnya Scott, who lost her home, expressed her frustration and sadness, saying, ‘I feel bad for my mom because she is disabled and she lost her mother’s home to people’s negligence. There are laws and rules in place for a reason.’
The case remains under investigation by CalFire San Bernardino, with no arrests made yet.
