Imagine walking into a business meeting with the same sense of excitement and anticipation you felt as a child on Christmas morning. That’s the kind of energy and enthusiasm that Johnny Juan, founder of Fun Life Coaching, brings to his work every day. As a Christian entrepreneur, Juan believes that faith and business are intimately connected, and that by embracing a sense of childlike faith, we can unlock new levels of success and fulfillment in our professional lives.
The Power of Childlike Faith
According to Juan, childlike faith is about approaching life with a sense of wonder, curiosity, and trust. It’s about being open to new possibilities and opportunities, and being willing to take risks and step out of our comfort zones. As he notes, ‘When you’re a kid, you don’t think about the possibilities – you just go for it.’ This mindset, he argues, is essential for achieving success in business, where adaptability, resilience, and creativity are essential for staying ahead of the curve.
‘At what point did you stop believing God for the impossible?’ Juan asks. ‘At what point did you put aside that childlike faith?’ For many of us, the answer is ‘somewhere along the way,’ as we’ve gotten caught up in the demands and pressures of adult life. But Juan urges us to reclaim that sense of childlike faith, to approach our work and our lives with a sense of awe, curiosity, and trust.
Practical Applications
So what does this look like in practice? For Juan, it means approaching sales and marketing with a sense of authenticity and genuineness. Rather than trying to manipulate or persuade others, we should focus on building relationships and serving others. As he notes, ‘People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.’ By prioritizing people and relationships over profits and outcomes, we can build trust, credibility, and loyalty – essential ingredients for long-term success.
‘When you understand that the person in front of you is the highest frequency, the highest vibration that we as human beings emit and put out into the universe, is the frequency of authenticity and genuineness,’ Juan says. ‘People know when you’re trying to be fake. People know when you’re trying to sell them something.’ By being our authentic selves, we can build connections and relationships that are meaningful, lasting, and profitable.
Living Out Our Faith
For Steve Hendry and Lyle Leads, hosts of the Dallas Fort Worth Christian Networking series, the connection between faith and business is personal. As they note, ‘God is never happier with his children than when we’re out there helping solve the problems of his other children.’ By living out our faith in our daily lives and work, we can make a real difference in the world – and find fulfillment and purpose in the process.
‘Your business, when done right, really should and could be a ministry cleverly disguised as a fill-in-the-blank,’ Juan notes. By embracing this mindset, we can turn our work into a source of joy, purpose, and meaning – and make a lasting impact on the world around us.
