A close call at Boston’s Logan Airport is being investigated by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) after a Delta Air Lines flight was cleared to land while an American Airlines flight was taking off.
Incident Details
The incident occurred around 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. According to the FAA, the crew of Delta Air Lines Flight 2351 executed a go-around because another aircraft was departing from an intersecting runway. Air Traffic Control audio showed that the American flight began its takeoff, and when the pilot of the Delta flight realized that, the pilot initiated a go-around.
Fortunately, no one was hurt in the incident. The FAA has confirmed that the flights were cleared on intersecting runways and is investigating the matter further.
