A group of survivors of Jeffrey Epstein’s abuse and family members of the late Virginia Giuffre met with House Oversight Chair James Comer in a private meeting to discuss potential leads from the Justice Department’s Epstein files. The survivors presented Comer with documents, including an email detailing a list of men from Epstein’s orbit and Giuffre’s 2015 testimony to investigators.
Investigation into Epstein’s Orbit
The list of men includes some who have previously testified to the committee, such as Bill Clinton and Les Wexner, as well as other high-profile names like Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and President Donald Trump. The survivors argued that acting Attorney General Todd Blanche’s suggestion that there were no more leads to pursue in the case is not true.
Comer soon acted on at least some of the information provided to him by the survivors, announcing that he would ask attorney Alan Dershowitz to testify in the panel’s probe. Dershowitz, who has long maintained he has never done anything wrong or illegal related to Epstein or his victims, told CNN that he volunteered to testify.
The House Oversight Committee has conducted at least 15 interviews as part of its ongoing Epstein probe, including interviews with the Clintons, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, and key members of Epstein’s inner circle.
