Noah Lopez, a 9-year-old boy from El Paso, had the opportunity to meet soccer star Kylian Mbappé at the World Cup semifinal match. Noah’s mother, Claudia Lopez, had entered his name in a raffle for a chance to help escort players onto the pitch during the 2026 World Cup.
The Experience
Noah was randomly selected and got to escort Mbappé onto the field before kickoff. He learned a few phrases in French to communicate with the athlete and was able to introduce himself. Noah said the best moment was walking out with Mbappé, and he is now cherishing the memories and keepsakes from the experience.
Noah’s family was able to enjoy the moment from different locations, with his mother and sister watching from a nearby entertainment district and his father witnessing it from the stands inside the stadium. Noah will start 4th grade soon and has already been approached by his school principal to talk about his World Cup experience during the school announcements.
