LiftFund, a San Antonio-based nonprofit, has launched a new grant program to help small businesses in the Texas Hill Country recover from the recent flooding. The program will provide grants of up to $10,000 to affected businesses and nonprofits in 16 counties, including Bandera, Blanco, Burnet, Comal, Edwards, Gillespie, Hays, Kendall, Kerr, Kimble, Llano, Mason, Medina, Menard, Real, and Uvalde.

Flood Relief Efforts

The funding can be used for rebuilding and repairs, damaged equipment, and operating expenses while businesses work to reopen. Many businesses were still recovering from last year’s historic floods when the recent flooding hit, dealing another financial blow to communities that depend on locally owned businesses.

According to Amy Hereford, president and CEO of LiftFund, the nonprofit is committed to helping small businesses recover from disasters. “Our hearts are with the Texas small businesses that are facing yet another tragic disaster,” she said. “When disasters strike, they need trusted partners who can respond in a matter of days to sustain the business and its employees. Our team is prepared to help business owners stabilize, recover, and continue serving the communities that depend on them.”

Eligibility and Application

Eligible applicants must have been operating on or before July 1, 2025, and must demonstrate economic losses caused by the July flooding. Applications for the 2026 Texas Hill Country Flood Relief Program are now open.

LiftFund has deployed more than 525 grants and loans totaling more than $17 million to Hill Country businesses during the past year. The nonprofit has spent more than three decades helping entrepreneurs recover from disasters, including hurricanes, wildfires, floods, and the COVID-19 pandemic.
