An EF-0 tornado touched down in the Harmony Woods subdivision of Clark County, damaging homes and leaving residents with a major cleanup. The National Weather Service confirmed the tornado reached estimated winds of 85 miles per hour. It was about 25 yards wide and stayed on the ground for roughly three-tenths of a mile.

Damage Assessment

Residents described hearing intense and unusual sounds as the storm moved through. "It started getting louder and louder," Ronald Downs said, trying to describe the moment the tornado hit. Officials said at least two homes suffered roof damage. Another home had a shed flipped over and sections of fencing destroyed. Trees and debris were also thrown into nearby properties.

"It didn’t last very long, probably not less than a minute. And then it just got quiet, and it was done," Susan Clay said. Ronald Downs said the storm moved through quickly but left significant damage behind. He reported missing shingles, damage to his shed, and fencing destroyed around his property. His large maple tree was also uprooted and thrown across the street.

Crews spent Saturday morning removing the fallen tree from a neighbor’s yard as residents cleaned up. "Honestly, kind of shocking. You never think it’s going to happen to your neighborhood," Nathan Lerit said. Despite the damage, Downs said he was thinking of neighbors who were impacted even worse. "I just thank the good Lord, no more damage than what was done here. And nobody got hurt," Downs said.
