Authorities are asking for the public’s help in identifying 16 people in connection with a break-in at an East Los Angeles AutoZone that resulted in significant loss and damage to the business last weekend.
The break-in occurred at around 3:30 a.m. on Aug. 9, when forced entry was made into the business in the 1130 block of South Atlantic Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. The incident has been described as a ‘mob-like burglary of the store.’ Another burglary at the same store occurred during a street takeover the day before, and investigators say the same suspects may have been involved.
Video from inside the store showed smashed windows and computers, and aisles filled with broken glass and products pulled off the shelves. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department released images of the suspects, which came from footage from the business, in a social media post.
