Firefighters in Okolona, Kentucky, rescued an injured dog from a drain pipe on Saturday afternoon. The dog had been hit by a car near Outer Loop Road and ran into the pipe for safety.
Crews from the Okolona Fire Protection District used industrial rescue techniques to locate and remove the dog from the pipe. Once out, the dog was taken to an animal hospital for treatment.
The rescue is a reminder of the important work that firefighters do, not just for people, but also for animals in need.
