A boil order has been issued for parts of Moore, Oklahoma, after E. coli was found in the drinking water. The Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality required the Moore Public Water Supply to inform users that water must be brought to a full, rolling boil for at least one minute before it is used for cooking, dishwashing, or brushing teeth.
Affected Areas
The boil order applies to customers in the area east of Interstate 35, south of Southeast 4th Street, north of Indian Hills Road, and west of the Moore city limits. The city said the water supply is contaminated with E. coli, which can make people sick, especially those with weakened immune systems.
Residents are advised to take precautions to ensure their safety. The city will notify customers when the water is considered safe for consumption.
