A family in Durham is without a home after a fire broke out overnight at a residence on Chesley Lane in south Durham.
Firefighters responded to the scene around 12 a.m. and were able to put out the fire, but the home was left with significant damage, making it uninhabitable for the family.
Multiple agencies, including the Durham and Cary fire departments and Durham EMS, responded to the scene. Fortunately, no one was injured in the fire, and the family was able to escape the home thanks to neighbors who alerted them to the fire.
The cause of the fire is currently unknown and is under investigation.
