Duke Energy crews are working around the clock to restore power to thousands of customers in the Cincinnati area. As of 6:34 a.m. Friday morning, more than 11,000 customers are without power, down from 260,000 at the peak of Tuesday’s storms.
Restoration Efforts
Duke Energy has brought in hundreds of crews who are staging at the Tri-County Mall, where trucks are lined up and ready to be dispatched. The company says they know it has been a tough go to restore power, but they’re making significant progress in getting everything restored.
Some of the hardest-hit areas include Cincinnati’s West Side, where some neighbors are still struggling just to get to and from their homes. Large trees are still blocking driveways and roads and, in some cases, trapping cars in place.
