Dos Pueblos High School went 2-0 in pool play on the first day of the prestigious Chargers Invitational in girls flag football.
Game Highlights
Dos Pueblos 28, Classical Academy 12: Ava Taji connected with Brooklyn Hedricks for 2 passing touchdowns, including a 46 yarder. Taji and Hedricks each also added point after conversions. Paige Ferro rushed for 2 touchdowns in the game to help the offense secure the game.
Jane Gibson had an interception to help the defense. While Makyla Watt added a sack.
Dos Pueblos 13, Redondo Union 7: Ava Taji connected with Kindah Amed-Reda for touchdown. Ruby Streatfeild converted the PAT attempt. Paige Ferro scored a rushing touchdown in the second half to give the chargers the lead.
Makyla Watt and Nya Ribbens each recorded sacks while Alma Basave had two pass breakups.
Dos Pueblos finished first in their bracket after day one of pool play and advanced to Div 1a bracket, and will now face off against JSerra Saturday.
