Former Dallas Cowboys safety Donovan Wilson is giving back to his community. The Shreveport native and Woodlawn alum held a backpack giveaway at Woodlawn High School, providing students with the necessary supplies for the upcoming academic year.
Along with the free backpacks, Wilson also offered free haircuts for kids of all ages. The event, which took place from noon until 3 p.m., aimed to help students prepare for the new school year.
Wilson, a seven-year NFL veteran, expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to give back to his community. "I just want to be able to help others who are not able to, and just be a blessing to other people’s lives," he said.
