The Disney pin collecting community is a global one, with collectors and traders connecting online and in-person. Lisa Hernandez, a former Disneyland employee, attended the convention with her daughter Lauren Vogt, who has been collecting pins for about four years.
Vogt makes her own pin boards and is involved in the buying, selling, and trading of pins. Hernandez helps her daughter by standing in line and carrying bags, making her day more efficient.
The D23 convention offers collectors a chance to find limited-edition merchandise and connect with other Disney fans who share the hobby. The 2026 Premier Collection, a set of 15 limited-edition pins, is one of the rarest items available at the convention.
