Denver’s High Plains Comedy Festival is calling it quits after 13 years. The festival’s organizers announced the decision on Facebook, stating that it’s time for the team to move on to new projects and let the young blood of Denver and national comedy bring the city the next great thing.
History of the Festival
The festival was founded in 2013 by comedians Adam Cayton-Holland and Andy Juett. It played in venues citywide over the years, with a significant presence on South Broadway in the Baker neighborhood. The event showcased a mix of up-and-coming and established local talent, along with national acts performing in venues from the Skylark Lounge to the Paramount Theatre.
The festival will host one last blowout show on Saturday, November 21, at the Skylark, promising a nostalgic lineup. The last full festival was held over three days in September 2025.
