Deep Vellum’s inaugural Music and Literature Festival is set to take place in Downtown Dallas this weekend. The three-day event will be held in Deep Ellum, which is the inspiration for Deep Vellum’s name. The non-profit, created in 2013, is a publishing house, bookstore, and literary arts center.
Festival Details
The festival will feature over 60 literary and music artists across 11 different venues in Deep Ellum. The day events are free with registration, while the evening shows are available for purchase. Award-winning poet, essayist, and cultural critic Hanif Abdurraqib will headline Saturday night’s show, along with musician and poet Jamila Woods.
During the day, there will be poetry readings, musical performances, and different panels. One of the events includes the poets of Dallas reading outside of Poets Bookshop on Main Street Plaza. The festival aims to celebrate the Deep Ellum community, the Dallas literary community, and bring the world’s best writers to Dallas.
