DALLAS — The Dallas Stars have issued an indefinite ban to a person who purchased tickets for a group of four spectators shown in video footage appearing to perform a Nazi salute while celebrating a goal at American Airlines Center.

The team released a statement emphasizing that discriminatory or hateful actions are not tolerated in the arena and that maintaining an inclusive, safe and respectful environment is non-negotiable for the organization. The Stars said they are taking steps to address the incident and prevent similar behavior going forward.

A fan captured a roughly 12-second clip during a late-December game that appears to show four people reacting to a goal by raising and extending their right arms with the hand straightened and facing downward. That video circulated online and prompted the team to investigate the matter.

Following the review, the team identified the person who bought the tickets for that group and informed them of an indefinite ban from attending games. Officials said they are also increasing in-arena reminders about the Fan Code of Conduct and are prioritizing staff training so employees can better recognize and respond to violations.

Fan codes of conduct are used across the league; teams typically display the rules on video boards, announce them over the public-address system or both. The league’s guidance stresses that the best hockey experiences occur in environments that are inclusive, safe and respectful for all fans.
