A Dallas restaurant, Maroma, is standing behind its manager after a group of diners accused staff of racial profiling. The incident occurred when employees reported a strong marijuana odor near the restrooms and cut off alcohol service to the group.

TikTok creator Andrea Chantel posted a video showing part of her confrontation with a Maroma manager. Chantel and her companions denied smoking marijuana after the manager said the restaurant would no longer serve them alcohol.

Maroma said staff observed a strong marijuana odor and had concerns about possible use in the restaurant restroom. Management said the smell was significant enough that nearby guests asked to move to another area. It then determined that continuing to serve alcohol was not appropriate.

Chantel said in a follow-up video that she was the only person in the group who used the restroom area and that she entered the men’s room because the women’s room was occupied. She maintained that she did not smoke and said she planned to seek legal counsel.
