Dallas Murder‑For‑Hire Trial Begins with Jury Selection for Kewon White

Dallas residents saw a jury take its seats on Tuesday for the first of three defendants in a high‑profile murder‑for‑hire case. The defendant, Kewon White, is accused of firing the shots that killed Dallas rapper MO3 — whose legal name was Melvin Noble — on Interstate 35 in 2020.

Prosecutors allege a rival rap feud sparked the killing

According to the Dallas County District Attorney’s Office, rival rapper Yella Beezy, born Markies Conway, allegedly hired White to carry out the murder as part of a long‑standing feud between the two artists. Conway has entered a not‑guilty plea to a capital murder charge and continues to deny any involvement in the shooting.

Additional defendants face capital murder charges

White is not the only person charged. A third defendant, Devin Brown, is also accused of capital murder. Prosecutors say surveillance video shows Brown riding in the vehicle with White and later walking up to Noble while wearing a ski mask. Brown, like White, has pleaded not guilty.

White is already serving a sentence for an unrelated gun charge. The new capital murder charge could add a life sentence if a conviction is secured.

Trial timeline and next steps

The court expects White’s trial to run roughly two weeks. After that, separate trials for Conway and Brown are slated to begin. The proceedings are being closely watched by the Dallas community, which has seen a surge in violent incidents involving local musicians over the past several years.

Legal experts note that the case underscores the broader issue of gun violence and the influence of rivalries within the music industry. While the trial focuses on the specific actions of the accused, it also raises questions about how law‑enforcement and prosecutors address organized criminal activity tied to entertainment circles.

Community response

Family members of both victims and defendants have expressed a desire for a swift and fair process. Local faith leaders have called for prayer and healing, emphasizing the need for families to find peace amid the legal proceedings.

The Dallas County Court will continue to provide updates as the trial progresses. Residents are encouraged to stay informed through official court releases and reputable news sources.
