A gas leak at the MAA Meridian Apartments in Uptown Dallas prompted evacuations on July 22. The leak occurred when a construction company struck a 6-inch commercial gas line near the location.
Emergency Response
Dallas Fire-Rescue units, including the HazMat team, were dispatched to the scene. Atmos Energy technicians are working to address the leak. Although no gas readings were found inside the apartments, the building was evacuated as a precaution.
Residents are being temporarily housed in other MAA buildings until the situation is resolved. Nearby State Street and Allen Street have been closed while work is being done.
