Conair is recalling roughly 1.7 million Cuisinart-branded grill brushes because metal bristles can break loose during use and pose a swallowing hazard, according to federal safety regulators.
Recall Details
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced the recall covers 1,719,995 wire-bristle grill brushes sold under the Cuisinart name since 2009. The agency warned that detached bristles can cling to grill grates or food and, if ingested, can cause internal injuries that may require medical care.
Conair has received at least 54 reports of bristles coming loose from the brushes, the CPSC said. Three of those incidents involved persons swallowing the metal pieces and needing medical attention to have them removed.
Each recalled brush is baton-shaped and features a handle made of black plastic, stainless steel, or wood. The Cuisinart name is printed on the handle of every affected model.
The recall covers model numbers CCB-100, CCB-4125, CCB-5014, CCB-6450, CCB-8012, CCB-4114, CCB-W2 and CSBS-777. The affected products include:

- 4-in-1 Grill Cleaning Brush with Stainless Steel Wire Bristles, distributed October 2022 through March 2026
- BBQ Grill Cleaning Brush and Scraper, 16.5″ Stainless Steel, distributed June 2009 through March 2026

Some of the brushes were sold as part of a 10, 13, or 14-piece grill tool set.
The brushes were sold at Burlington, TJ Maxx, and Ross stores, as well as through online retailers including Amazon and Cuisinart’s website.
Consumers are being told to stop using the brushes and contact Conair for either a full refund or a 120% credit for use at Cuisinart.com.
