A couple from San Clemente witnessed a man get attacked and killed by a crocodile in front of a hotel in Puerto Vallarta on Friday night.
The incident happened at Marina Vallarta Beach near the Marriott Puerto Vallarta Resort and Spa at around 6:30 p.m., according to Jalisco state police. The man, who has not been identified, was a 28-year-old from Mexico who was in Puerto Vallarta for work.
Jamie Yetter and her fiance, Chris, were staying at the hotel and said they were at the pool when they heard screams coming from the beach.
They said they got a kayak to try to get to the man and help him. Just hours after the attack, people were swimming in the ocean with their families.
