Conroe Independent School District (Conroe ISD) has approved an employee compensation plan for the 2026-27 school year. The plan does not include across-the-board pay raises for teachers. Instead, certified teachers with three or five years of experience will receive pay raises.
Compensation Plan Details
Certified teachers with three years of experience will receive a $400 pay raise, from $63,850 to $64,250. Certified teachers with five years of experience will see their salaries increase by $2,500, from $64,700 to $67,200.
According to Garza, the district understood early on that pay raises for all teachers would not be possible this year. Last year, the board voted to approve salary increases for teachers, with amounts ranging from $2,100 for first- and second-year teachers to $5,000 for fifth-year teachers and up.
Garza stated that the district will still explore future pay raises and compensation opportunities as they become available. The new compensation plan is expected to keep the budget balanced before the board approves it at the next meeting in August.
