Wildfires in Colorado have destroyed 851 structures, with the Aspen Acres fire being 28% contained. The fire has burned 97,083 acres of land, and roughly 1,900 people are currently fighting the blaze.
Aspen Acres Fire
The Aspen Acres fire grew by nearly 1,000 acres from Thursday to Friday, but its estimated containment increased from 20% to 28%. The Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office lifted the pre-evacuation status for certain areas, allowing residents to return home.
Mandatory evacuation orders have been reduced to pre-evacuation in parts of southern Pueblo County. Residents returning to pre-evacuation areas must have a re-entry card. Fremont County officials lifted all remaining mandatory evacuations on Thursday.
Other Wildfires
The Gold Mountain fire near Ouray has burned 33,185 acres of land, with 7% containment. The Ferris fire in San Juan National Forest has burned 62,916 acres, with 19% containment. Evacuation orders have been issued for western Dolores County near the town of Dove Creek.
