As schools across Colorado start back up again, the Colorado State Patrol (CSP) is reminding drivers to pay attention on the road, especially with the added presence of e-bikes and scooters that some kids may be using to get to school.
Safe Use of E-Devices
CSP Trooper Gabriel Moltrer emphasized the importance of parents knowing where these devices are allowed, checking with local municipalities for laws and restrictions, and ensuring their child is riding safely. When used on the road, riders must go in the same direction as cars, use bike lanes when able, yield to pedestrians, and obey all traffic signs and signals.
CSP also reminds riders to always wear protective gear like helmets and to be visible at all times. By taking these precautions, both drivers and riders can help ensure a safe return to school for everyone.
