A Cody teenager has etched her name into Wyoming sports history, becoming the first figure skater from the state to compete at the United States Excel National Festival and Series Final, according to the Cody Enterprise.
The milestone achievement puts a spotlight on the young athlete’s dedication and talent, and marks a proud moment for the Cody community. Reaching a national-level competition in figure skating is a remarkable accomplishment for any young athlete, and doing so as a trailblazer for the entire state makes the achievement all the more special.
While figure skating may not be the first sport that comes to mind in Wyoming’s rugged, rodeo-rich culture, this teenager’s journey to the national stage is a testament to the hard work and passion that drives young people across the Cowboy State. Cody can take genuine pride in knowing one of its own is now part of Wyoming sports history.
