Clearwater Police Department officials announced that six warrants have been issued following a riotous ‘Teen Takeover’ event on Clearwater Beach on May 31, 2026.
Investigation and Arrests
Clearwater Police Detectives secured arrest warrants for five juveniles and one adult after an investigation that included digital evidence reviews, coordination with multiple county agencies, and multiple investigative leads. A teenager who was shot during the incident had participated in the riotous behavior, resulting in one of the five juvenile warrants being issued against him.
Authorities identified the adult suspect as Nigel Charleak Carleston, 18, of Valrico, Florida. Clearwater Police are currently working with law enforcement partners in Hillsborough, Pasco, and Polk counties to locate and arrest the four remaining suspects.
‘If you think you can come to our city and expect to get away with this, think again,’ Clearwater Police Chief Gandy said. ‘Our officers and detectives will relentlessly pursue the leads necessary to put you in jail and hold you accountable.’
