ODOT has permanently closed the Second Street ramps into downtown Cincinnati as construction ramps up on the Brent Spence Companion Bridge. The closures will especially impact drivers coming from the West Side heading to The Banks, Great American Ball Park, Paycor Stadium, and the Andrew J. Brady Center.
Detour Information
Drivers taking U.S. 50 East can no longer access the Second Street exit after the ramps were closed Sunday. Motorists will need to detour to Freeman Avenue and head east on Mehring Way to Elm Street before making it to Second Street. Starting at 11 p.m. Monday, ODOT will also close the Second Street ramp from I-75 South. Drivers will instead need to take the Fifth Street exit, head to Race Street, and go south to reach Second Street.
ODOT will be installing new signs alerting drivers to the closures and the new detour on each route. The Second Street ramps will be replaced with a temporary Third Street that will offer access to Second Street. The new temporary ramp is expected to be in place by this fall, according to ODOT.
