China is aiming for retail sales to total around $8.85 trillion by 2030, according to its 15th five-year plan for expanding consumption. The plan, released on Monday, vows to boost services consumption, including those related to elderly care and childcare.
It also pledged to develop tourism consumption, expand the visa-free scheme to include more countries, and increase the number of direct flights to Europe, the United States, and Belt and Road countries.
