Central Florida is expecting a wet afternoon commute due to storms rolling in across the area. Meteorologist Victoria Wisniewski is tracking the weather and warns of impact weather in place between 1 to 9 p.m.
Storm Details
The storms may bring damaging winds, frequent lightning, and heavy rain with rates of 2 to 3 inches per hour. The greatest concerns will be during the afternoon to evening commute time frame.
Temperatures will still be in the mid to upper 90s, but the cooling rains will help alleviate the heat. However, as the rain chances drop off Wednesday into Thursday, heat advisories may be issued.
The First Warning Live Radar is currently clear, but activity is already being seen near the Big Bend region. The storms are expected to move from west to east, and the impact weather will be in place throughout the afternoon.
