Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum recently appeared on “TODAY with Jenna & Sheinelle” to promote his new children’s book, “Baby Dunks-a-Lot: The Day the Basketballs Stopped Bouncing.” During the interview, Tatum was asked about the possibility of free agent LeBron James joining the Celtics.
When asked if he thought LeBron James would look good in Celtics green, Tatum replied, “Um, you know what, that hasn’t crossed my mind. I have no idea.” Tatum was also asked about the recent trade of longtime teammate Jaylen Brown to the Philadelphia 76ers.
Tatum Reflects on Jaylen Brown Trade
Tatum spoke publicly about the trade for the first time at an event Tuesday night to promote his new book. He expressed his love and respect for Jaylen Brown, saying, “I think, for one, I have nothing obviously but love and respect for Jaylen. It’s tough when you’re a professional athlete and everything we do is publicized and nitpicked. We played together for nine years. There was a period of our career where we hadn’t won a championship yet. The expectations were so high…”
Tatum also talked about the time he and Jaylen Brown spent together on the Celtics, saying, “We had nine amazing years together. We went to the Finals twice, we won a championship, so I will forever be grateful for those memories and the time we spent together.”
