Casper police report no injuries after downtown vehicle crash on Ash Street

Casper Police Department officials confirmed Tuesday afternoon that a traffic collision on the intersection of 12th Avenue and Ash Street resulted in property damage but no injuries. Public Information Officer Rebekah Ladd told Oil City News that a northbound vehicle traveling on Ash Street ignored a stop sign, collided with a parked car, and set off a chain of events that ultimately damaged a residential porch.

Sequence of events

According to Ladd, the driver of the northbound vehicle failed to stop at the stop sign at 12th and Ash. The vehicle struck a parked car that was positioned on the side of the street. The impact caused a second driver, attempting to avoid the initial crash, to over‑correct his steering. That driver’s vehicle then struck a nearby tree before the front end slammed into the rail of a home’s porch.

No injuries reported

Fortunately, Ladd said that no one was injured in the incident. No victims required transport to Banner Wyoming Medical Center, and there were no reported medical emergencies at the scene. The police department has not released information about whether any citations were issued to the drivers involved.

Police response and community impact

The Casper Police Department responded quickly to the scene, securing the area and ensuring that traffic could be rerouted safely while crews assessed the damage. The department emphasized the importance of obeying traffic controls, especially stop signs, to prevent similar chain‑reaction crashes that can endanger families and damage homes.

Residents in the downtown area expressed relief that the accident did not result in injuries, noting that the neighborhood’s close‑knit character makes any incident a matter of community concern. Local business owners near the intersection reported only minor disruptions to foot traffic and thanked the police for their prompt handling of the situation.

Safety reminder

Casper Police continue to urge drivers to observe all traffic signs and signals, especially in residential districts where pedestrians and parked vehicles are common. The department also reminded motorists to maintain a safe following distance and to stay alert for sudden stops, which can help avoid over‑corrections that lead to secondary collisions.

For further updates on this incident or other public‑safety matters, residents can follow the Casper Police Department’s official social‑media channels or contact the department’s non‑emergency line.
