Shreveport is celebrating a landmark athletic achievement: for the first time in 27 years, the city has a high school national champion. Calvary Baptist Academy’s softball team has claimed a national title, according to The Shreveport-Bossier City Advocate, capping what has been a remarkable run for the program.
The milestone is a source of enormous community pride, marking a generational moment for local high school sports. The last time Shreveport could claim a national high school champion was 27 years ago, making Calvary’s accomplishment all the more special for students, families, coaches, and fans who packed the stands throughout the season.
Calvary Baptist Academy, a faith-based school with a long tradition of academic and athletic excellence, has given the entire Shreveport-Bossier community a reason to cheer. The championship title puts the Lady Cavaliers on a very short list of Shreveport schools to reach the pinnacle of high school athletics on a national stage.
Congratulations to the Calvary softball team, their coaches, and everyone who supported them on this historic journey. Shreveport is proud of you!
