The Caddo Parish Special Projects Committee reviewed proposed updates to the parish noise ordinance Monday, but members took no formal action. The commissioner who authored the proposed ordinance was absent.
Background
Parish attorney Donna Frazier noted that neighboring Bossier Parish enforces more restrictive noise regulations. Frazier explained that updating local ordinances requires scientific data and objective consultant studies.
The parish has received only three noise complaints since January. In addition, most local natural gas fracking companies have transitioned to quiet fleets to reduce sound output.
