The Hispanic Police Officers Association of Miami-Dade has announced its endorsement of U.S. Rep. Byron Donalds for Governor of Florida. The association, established in 1979, represents around 2,000 active law enforcement officers and honorary retirees involved in community and professional advocacy throughout South Florida.

Endorsement Based on Law Enforcement Support

Carlos Arguelles, president of the organization, credited Donalds for his consistent stance on law enforcement issues in recent years. “We are endorsing Byron Donalds because he’s the right man for the job,” Arguelles said. “During COVID, when the ‘defund the police’ movement was gaining momentum, Congressman Donalds stood up for law enforcement and doubled down on putting more boots on the ground.”

Donalds accepted the endorsement and reiterated his intention to prioritize funding, support, and protection for law enforcement agencies if elected governor. “I’m honored to have the endorsement of the Hispanic Police Officers Association of Miami-Dade,” Donalds said. “For nearly 50 years, this organization has represented officers who have dedicated their lives to protecting South Florida’s families and neighborhoods. I will always stand with the brave men and women of law enforcement who put on the badge every day to keep our communities safe.”
