Baltimore’s waterfront neighborhoods are set to experience a vibrant addition to their cultural scene with the introduction of BxB Unplugged, a new weekly live music and maker series. This initiative, organized by the Waterfront Partnership of Baltimore, aims to bring the community together through music and local craftsmanship.
The BxB Unplugged series builds upon the success of the Baltimore by Baltimore festival, which has been a staple at the Inner Harbor Amphitheater since 2022. The series will kick off in June at Bond Street Wharf, located at 901 S. Bond St., and will continue throughout the summer, offering residents and visitors a chance to enjoy live performances and support local vendors.
Celebrating Black Music Month
June’s events will honor Black Music Month, featuring a diverse lineup of performers. Jazz vibraphonist Warren Wolf will open the series on June 4, followed by students from the Baltimore School for the Arts celebrating Black composers on June 11. Vocalist and songwriter Eylscia will perform on June 18, and the month will conclude with award-winning saxophonist Brent Birckhead on June 25. Each event is free and open to the public, with music starting at 5 p.m.
In addition to live music, BxB Unplugged will showcase local makers and vendors, including Greedy Reads, Kelley Gardens, El Suprimo Records, Soul Smoked, Taharka Brothers, and Bar by Keystone. This integration of music and local business highlights the community’s rich cultural tapestry and supports the local economy.
Part of Waterfront Week
The inaugural BxB Unplugged event on June 4 will be part of Waterfront Week, a 10-day celebration of Baltimore’s waterfront featuring live music, wellness programming, cultural events, and family-friendly activities. Keystone Korner Jazz is producing the series, ensuring a high-quality experience for all attendees.
