The Milwaukee Brewers’ win streak came to an end with a 5-1 loss to the St. Louis Cardinals on Wednesday night in St. Louis.
St. Louis scored twice in the first inning and never trailed the rest of the way. Kyle Harrison took the loss, giving up 3 runs on 4 hits over 4 innings. Brewers manager Pat Murphy said that Harrison is suffering from arm fatigue.
Garrett Mitchell and Cooper Pratt had two hits each to lead a mostly quiet offense. Mitchell boosted his batting average to .276, while Pratt is now batting .238.
Murphy also talked about being in the midst of an 18-game stretch over 17 days and whether or not the Brewers are in need of the All-Star break.
The NL Central rivals wrap up the unusual five-game series Thursday night with Logan Henderson starting for Milwaukee. Henderson is 2-1 with a 2.74 ERA. The Cardinals will send Andre Pallante to the hill, who is 10-5 with a 3.60 ERA.
